Calendar, Schedule, Hours

The schools will incorporate an extended student day as well as an extended school year calendar.

Calendar Notes:

  • 180 Total Student Days
  • 205 Staff Days
  • School Day: 8:00 – 4:00

In order to promote high achievement by students, the K-8 program follows a daily block schedule that allows time for significant in-depth learning. The school day is longer than the days in most other public schools and the schedule provides more opportunity for individual attention and extended learning opportunities.

The day follows this format:

7:30 – 8:00 am

Students arrive at school

8:00 – 8:15 am

Attendance / Announcements / Calendar

8:15 – 9:45 am

Reading Block

9:45 – 10:00

AM Recess

10:00 – 11:15

Math Block

11:15 – 12:00

Science / Social Studies / Spanish / Writing / Art or Music (rotation)

12:00 – 12:30

Lunch / Recess

12:30 – 1:30

Science / Social Studies /  Writing / Spanish & Art or Spanish & Music Rotation

1:30 – 2:30

Science / Social Studies / Spanish / Writing

2:30 – 2:45

PM Recess

2:45 – 3:45

Science / Social Studies / Spanish / Writing

3:45 -- 4:00
